Upon its release, part 1 of Salaar saw mixed reviews but was appreciated in the mass centers. As a result, it went onto score a healthy total and emerged as a commercial success.

Towards the end of part 1, Neel sets a stage that will lead to a rivalry between Prabhas and Prithviraj, which has left fans excited for the sequel. However, as Neel also has a project with Jr NTR, it was expected that Salaar 2 would take a bit longer to happen. Now, all thanks to the actor Bobby Simha, we have an exciting update that has put a big smile on our faces.
During an interview with iDreamMedia, Bobby Simha, who played Bhaarava in part 1, shared that the script of Salaar 2 has already been completed by Prashanth Neel, and the work on the film will start this April. Yes, you read that right! The magnum is going on floors very soon, and it seems that this one is on higher priority for Neel than his next with Jr NTR.

Meanwhile, for those who don’t know, Salaar 2 is officially titled as Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam. It is expected to be released in 2025 and will also feature Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Sriya Reddy, and others in key roles.
Revisiting box office success of part 1
Released on 22nd December 2023, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire ended up collecting a healthy sum of 407 crores net at the Indian box office, which equals 480.26 crores gross. In overseas, it earned 135 crores gross. Combining both Indian and overseas gross, the film raked in 615.26 crores gross at the worldwide box office.
