Fighter hit the big screens on January 25, 2024. The release coincided with Republic Day, which made perfect sense. References of the Pulwama attack, Balakot airstrike, and India–Pakistan border skirmishes in 2019 blended very well with the theme, but unfortunately, the response wasn’t as heartwarming as expected. Siddharth Anand feels the audience couldn’t relate to the aerial action and felt “alien” to the concept of fighter planes.
Fighter Box Office Collection
At the box office, Fighter is currently competing with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aise Uljha Jiya. Given it is a sci-fi rom-com that has arrived at a week ahead of Valentine’s Day, the footfalls were expected to get divided at the ticket windows. Although the genres are quite different, the films will eventually attract their niche audience.

As per the latest box office updates, Fighter has finally crossed the 200 crore mark on day 19. It brought collections of 1.20 crores, surging its overall total to 200.20 crores.
And with that, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer is the first Indian film to have entered the 200 crore club in 2024. It has also surpassed Teja Sajja led HanuMan in that race, which is yet to achieve that milestone at the domestic box office.
Fighter Worldwide Collections
After the conclusion of 17 days, Fighter stood at a total of 324.39 crores gross. It had surpassed Akshay Kumar’s highest-grossing film of all time, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (316.61 crores gross). The action flick had also previously beaten Ek Tha Tiger (320 crores gross), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (318 crores gross), and Bharat (323.03 crores gross).
The next aim is The Kashmir Files, which has most likely been crossed. The latest update till day 19 is awaited.
