Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali had a slow start at the box office. The film was released in theaters on October 16, a day after Jailer 2. Despite Vijay and Rashmika’s on-screen reunion after seven years, the film failed to make much of an impression at the box office. The film was then relying on the Dussehra holiday to pick up momentum. However, even the festival holiday did little for the film.
How Much Did Ranabaali Earn At The Box Office In 5 Days?
Vijay Deverakonda hailed this period drama as his grand box-office comeback. The actor has not had a hit since the pandemic. Even his previous film, Kingdom, despite a strong start, proved a box-office failure. On its first Tuesday, which was also the Dussehra holiday, the film earned 6.75 crore net in India. The film had an occupancy rate of 56%, which was the same as on its opening day. However, the collection was lower than that of its opening day.
The net total for Ranabaali after five days stands at 36.2 crore, which translates to 42.72 crore gross. Overseas, the film has grossed 10.25 crore, bringing its worldwide total to 52.97 crore.

Fails To Gain Momentum On Dussehra
Ranabaali failed to attract audiences during the Dussehra holiday. It earned less than its opening-day box-office collection. On its first Monday, the period drama, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, dropped by 41.62% from its opening-day collection. It was a significant drop for a film mounted on a grand scale. With the film failing to gain much momentum during the Dussehra holiday, Ranabaali may end up as a box-office disaster.
Currently, Ranabaali is just 5 crore short of surpassing Liger’s lifetime total. The film will cross the mark to become Vijay Deverakonda‘s third-highest-grosser in the post-COVID era, behind Kingdom and Kushi.
More About Ranabaali
Director Rahul Sankrityan describes his film as an alternate-history drama, which means it takes a part of history and reimagines how events could have unfolded. The film is set against the backdrop of the 19th-century famine in southern India under British rule. Vijay plays a fictional character who also serves as the savior of his people.
